About the Organizers

CT University is a private university on Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana, Punjab, India. It was established in 2016 under C.T. University Act, 2016. The university is approved by University Grants Commission. CTU offers a full range of academic programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.

 

About the Moot

The CT University, Ludhiana, in the memory of (Late) Prof. (Dr.) Basant K. Sharma, an academician with Dept of Laws, Punjab University, Chandigarh, designed as a part of its endeavour to provide, facilitate and expose the student community to identify the contemporary legal issues in the family law domain, takes immense pleasure in announcing the 1st Edition of Prof. (Dr.) Basant K. Sharma Memorial National Moot Court Competition (Virtual), 2021.

The competition is scheduled to be held from November 08th -10th, 2021, on a virtual platform. The moot will be judged by legal luminaries who have expertise in the legal issues stated in the moot problem. Participation is open for students who are pursuing LLB 3-year/5-year courses during the current academic year.

 

Eligibility

Participation is open for bonafide students who are either pursuing a 3-year LLB course or the 5-year integrated law course during the current academic year from an institution recognised by the Bar Council of India. Only one team from each participating college shall be registered for the competition. Each team shall comprise either three members (two Speakers and one Researcher) only.

All interested teams shall have to make payment of registration fees amounting to INR 500/- (non-refundable) in the account given below:

  • • After payment of registration fees interested teams shall register themselves by diligently filling this Google Form
  • • Forms received after the deadline shall not be considered for registration.
  • • The receipt of form shall be acknowledged within 48 hours of submission via mail.
  • • Registration of a team shall be confirmed only after receipt of payment and registration form by the organizers. The confirmation of registration shall be conveyed via email
  • • Upon validation of registration, each team shall be allotted a team code before the competition. During the competition shall be identified by the team code allotted to them.

  • • Last date for seeking clarifications to propositions: October 30, 2021
  • • Last date for submission of Memorials (Soft Copy): November 3, 2021
  • • Date of Competition: November 8-10, 2021

  • • Runner Up:  5,000 INR and E-Certificates
  • • Best Speaker: 4,000 INR and E-Certificates
  • • Best Memorial: 3,000 INR and E-Certificates
  • • All the Participants will get participation certificates.
